El Alamein Military Museum is one of the most famous Egyptian military museums. It is located on Egypt's north coast in El Alamein, Matrouh Governorate. It was established by president Gamal Abd El Naser in 1956. The aim of building the museum is to commemorate Egypt's significant role in one of the most remarkable battles of World War II, El Alamein battle, which broke out between the Allies and Axis powers in 1942. The museum has separate halls dedicated to the four major countries involved in the war: Great Britain, Italy, Germany, and Egypt.
