Itinerary
Inécia tour guide will pick you up from the hotel in Luxor to start the tour of Abu Simbel and Aswan. After a four-hour drive, you first stop will be the High Dam, a monumental engineering feat constructed in 1960 to control the annual flooding of the Nile and provide hydroelectric power to Egypt. Then, you will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, a massive structure commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut that offers fascinating insights into ancient Egyptian stone-carving techniques. Finally, you will visit Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, one of the most iconic and well-preserved temples in Egypt, located on the island of Philae. The temple was moved to its current location to save it from flooding caused by the creation of Lake Nasser after the construction of the High Dam. Then, you will be transferred to your hotel in Aswan.
Breakfast at the hotel. Inécia tour guide will pick you up from the hotel in Aswan to start the tour of Abu Simbel Temples. After a three-hour drive, you will visit Abu Simbel site, which contains two temples; the Great Temple, built by King Ramses II, and the Small Temple, dedicated to his wife, Nefertari. The temples were dismantled and reconstructed on safer sides after the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Then, you will be transferred to Luxor International Airport for your departure.
