Home > Travel Guide > Egypt > Luxor > Mummification Museum

The Mummification Museum is located on the eastern bank of Luxor, overlooking the Nile. It was inaugurated by former President Hosny Mubarak in 1997. The museum provides visitors with information about the mummification process of humans and animals as well as the tools, objects, techniques, and equipment used in the process.

The Mummification Museum displays many unique mummies, such as the mummy of Masaharti, the commander of the army, and the high priest of Amun in Thebes, which was found in the temple of Deir El Bahari.
